Editor & Publisher Kristy Basolo Kristy Basolo is a Negaunee resident, Negaunee High School
graduate and has a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in journalism from
NMU. She is currently finishing her master's degree in writing from NMU. While at NMU, Kristy worked for The North Wind student newspaper in various capacities, including three semesters as editor in chief and a year as faculty adviser. She taught the Journalism Practicum class as a graduate student. After The North Wind, Kristy began working as the managing editor at Marquette Monthly magazine, where she still works. In her spare time, she serves as the Media Relations Coordinator and Webmaster for the Negaunee Invitational Basketball Tournament, the Webmaster for the Negaunee Historical Society and is a board member on the Negaunee Irontown Association board. Kristy lives in Negaunee with her dog, Dante, and enjoys reading, writing, all things outdoors, especially campfires, hiking and picking berries. She also appreciates big trucks, import cars, college basketball, four-wheeling and attending theatre productions. She considers herself very lucky to have the support of her parents, family and friends in undertaking the venture of starting her own magazines. |
