About the Magazine

God's Country U.P. Outdoor Magazine is a monthly publication about everything outdoors in the heart of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The first issue hit the stands in November 2005. The publication was the brainchild of Negaunee resident Kristy Basolo, and became a reality with the help of photographer Duane Pape and advertising and graphic designer Kathy Jeske Casteel. Many other individuals have been instrumental in helping get the project off the ground and keeping it going.

God's Country is created at Plan B Publishing headquarters in Negaunee, and is printed courtesy of Globe Printing in Ishpeming. The magazine can be found in more than 100 locations throughout the Upper Peninsula, including gas stations, restaurants, visitor's centers, taverns and more. Click here to download our distribution list. The magazine currently is free off the stands. Subscriptions cost $20 per year (12 issues). Visit our subscriptions page to order yours today.

God's Country currently serves the Central Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but the staff hopes to expand its coverage to the entire Upper Peninsula by 2007.
